No, there is nol best practices available for moving Windows Servers. After searching all along the 'net, I just got back to my old point on moving servers. You may better plan yourself, script things with VBS, .NET and even DOS Batch Files and handle things in your own way. Else you will loose for sure something in the middle.

Month of Corrupted Windows Servers

 

I've been pretty busy for the last two weeks on unexpected corrupted Windows Server machines. Corrupted IIS, DNS, SQL and the last one corrupted Windows Auth settings!
In enterprise class services here in Iran, we still don't have mutual disaster recovery plans. And the enterprises are looking for more than what they have payed for. What a mess!
