HOWTO: Win Clients & Build Your Business

Design & Build Site for MOSS 2007

The goal of this guide is to provide prescriptive guidance that can help you and your team build custom enterprise sites by using Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 — such as company-wide portal sites or Internet presence sites. Custom sites based on Office SharePoint Server 2007 combine coded elements, such as workflows, document converters, and Web Parts, along with content, such as master pages, layout pages, graphics files, and Web pages. Best practices for developing these sites include setting up multiple environments for developing, integrating, piloting, and deploying coded elements and content from one environment to another. Therefore, coordinating the development and deployment of an enterprise site based on Office SharePoint Server 2007 is a complex activity. This guide describes the ways you can set up the multiple environments used in the development process and the methods for deploying content and code from one environment to another.

i-mate on the way to bankruptcy

As HTC is distributing its products, i-mate is said to be on bankruptcy which is obvious for the companies trying to claim their ownership of a product which is not... When you rely your business on something which might get discontinued anytime from re-branding to supporting unsupported software (those who compare commercial software with the unsupported open source software), that would be the result... Even when it is to i-mate!

Google Toolbar Blocked Iranians, So?!

I know, it is not something new, when you try downloading Google Toolbar in Iran, detected as of IP Global of Iran, you would have a nice screen telling you Google Toolbar is not allowed in your country. But I just managed installing it while I was installing Skype. I guess Google should consider it's policies while it is not offering something commercially and blocking Iran for no reason. I still can't forget Google for blocking my AdSense account.

For those interested in buying HTC devices, you might consider having a look at this website, claiming some of the HTC phones are not performing as what they have to.

A Pricing Strategy for Your SaaS Offering

Pricing strategy is a major component of any business, whether brick-and-mortar or bits-and-bytes. In addition to being an important strategy to hash out, it is also generally quite tricky to do correctly. Should pricing be value based or cost based? Should it focus on maximizing income per unit or volume? For all of the things our beloved SaaS delivery model does for us, it does not ease pricing strategy pains. I’d even venture to say that it makes pricing strategy even more complicated. After all, SaaS providers pride themselves in allowing tenants to pay a periodic base cost and tack on optional (and potentially intricately priced) bells and whistles. So how should a SaaS offering be priced? Clearly, this is something that should be considered on a case-by-case basis, however, I do feel there is a good framework to work from that focuses on boosting adoption rate and deferring creation of income and healthy margins to a path of least resistance. DNS Improvements in Windows Server 2008

Microsoft has included a Domain Name System (DNS) Server service in versions of Windows Server since Windows NT 4.0. DNS is a hierarchical, distributed database that contains mappings of DNS domain names to various types of data, such as IP addresses. With Windows Server 2008, the DNS Server service includes new background zone loading, enhancements to support IPv6, support for read-only domain controllers (RODCs), and the ability to host global single-label names.
